Internetz, this shall be a long vacay. It took me two days before the connection at my parents finally decided to be fast enough to actually connect. *face palm*
first things first, Happy birthday early to neroli and astriana. :) Hope you gals have a great day tomorrow.
Thing the second, omg it feels so good to not be in a tin can. Got to the airport after looping it twice looking for the parking lot (Garmin, how I hate your inability to understand addresses that are on a US Route. NJ, how I hate the fact that you randomly name routes as street names when they enter a city limits but don't publicize the name). Waited the two hours at Newark sweating my ass off thanks to their stupid airport design. And then we were twenty minutes late in boarding (thank goodness). Then came waiting half an hour to be able to get onto the runway, another hour waiting in line to take off, a sensor malfunction that meant we couldn't/wouldn't take off, another hour waiting for the air traffic control to clear the twenty planes behind us so we could taxi back to the airport, twenty minutes waiting for someone to remember to tell ground control to come hook our plane up to the airport, DEPLANING, boarding another tin can, and then waiting another hour for them to clear planes from behind us so we could go back to the runway and take off.
So, was supposed to take off at 7:30, took off finally at 11:45. And arrived in OK at 3 am (EST). My dad was less than happy with NJ and Continental as that is WAY past his bedtime. And me, I was STARVING since after lunch at 3pm (chicken salad at panera), all I'd had was a small bag of chips from lunch, two lara bars, and a handful of pecans. As a result, my stomach was fubared all day yesterday since that also involved two aleve in there and then another aleve yesterday to get rid of caffeine/dehydration migraine.
Oh, AT&T may have lost my business permanently thanks to idiot rep at the store yesterday. When I checked online on Thursday, there were about 10-12 bluetooth cell phones that were available as FREE phones and the listings next to them did not say "internet only" (and I hadn't entered my zip code so it wasn't NJ only). When I got to the store yesterday, idiot boy informed me there were no "free" phones available, but I could buy one for 30 dollars that came with a 30 dollar rebate. I walked out (this was after being ignored for 20 minutes since I was dressed in a tshirt and shorts and so looked "young").
Random OK moment: Listening to a rock station, the announcer comes on and gives you station info before reading a passage from Ephesians. *face palm*
But last night, I had fried potatoes with onions (cooked in bacon grease), pork chops, and green beans w/ bacon. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Trip and family are worth it for that alone.
