Yayyyyzzzz. Dean and Castiel going on a road trip together! I really wasn't feeling John, but I like how Kripke went in a completely different direction than what fandom has "typically" done. Also, we can officially burn the comic canon now that says John didn't get the Impala until after Mary died, thank you very much.
I loved seeing Dean w/ Pillegi. I really felt the relationship, even if Samuel didn't ever really know who Dean was (well, not and be able to say anything about it). The interesting thing is - after YED vamoosed in Liddy's house, we see Samuel compliment Dean. A backhanded way, but a compliment. Flashbacks of how Sam (or Dean? damn, I obviously need to go rewatch s1 finale) knew that John was the YED. Then again, when we know Samuel was possessed, he became a pretty right bastard pretty fast.
I'm disappointed that Dean didn't go to see Missouri while in Lawrence. I guess she mightn't have lived there then, but still!! He could have given her his Dad's research and then John would have been off to the races a bit faster.
I liked how the angels hoped that sending Dean back would have gotten Azazel to reveal his endgame. I like that we're wrapping the YED motives into what may be going on with Lilith here.....as in perhaps Lucifer will need a human body, but only one improved by demon blood and with powers would be acceptable? Or something like that.
I watched a little bit of the debate. It's too cringe worthy for me to be able to watch much of (akin to people not being able to watch themselves on video, or worried about jinxing their team by tuning into a game). Pretty even draw which kind of sucks and goes to show that Rove had his hand in the past week of Palin's hideous stupid interviews as a tactic. Cause now they can say, "ooh, look what she was able to do w/ 2 weeks of studying. Imagine what she'll be able to do once she's vice president and has some time to read the constitution for once". Or some such. Not like the important question of how her religious beliefs might inform her policies if she does get called up to the big leagues.
One thing I did find interesting is that she seems to have taken Bush Jr's tactic of smirking and making different facial tics in response to things that Biden says. Very disrespectful, especially given that he's been in the business a bit longer and is actually a congressman and all that. Just rubs the wrong damn way. Which goes along with the question that won't be asked above. The smugness that comes with knowing you'll win because "god wills it" has never ceased to infuriate me.
